Description
In June of 1760, a British army under Col. Archibald Montgomery attempted to invade the Cherokee’s homeland. While a few villages were destroyed, the army was forced to turn back with heavy casualties. This program will contrast life in barracks at Fort Dobbs with life in the field as experienced by both Montgomery’s men and Cherokee warriors. Featured activities include musket firing demonstrations as well as a presentation about the campaign by Historic Interpreter Jason Melius. 10am-4pm Saturday. $2 admission.
